As your business grows, you may need to add an employee or two. And you may not need someone full time. There is a solution: telecommuting. There are some great advantages to telecommuting, and these days, gas prices is one of the advantages.
Here are some questions to ask of your employees before they telecommute:
- Are the job skills conducive to working off site?
- Is the employee self motivated?
- Are they focused?
- Are they okay with limited human contact?
- Are they comfortable enough with technology to telecommute?
Telecommuting works in a lot of professions. My friend, Grant Griffiths, works from home as an attorney and his paralegal telecommutes. He even blogs about it.
If you think you need someone part time, or if you want to offer a great benefit to your employee, consider telecommuting.
