Getting Help for Your Firm
At one point or another during your practice, you are going to need help. Among many virtues, knowing when to ask for help is important. As I mentioned in my post on mentors, I am fortunate to have two mentors who I can go to for help with issues. But, there are other issues which require help. I have even asked Shane and Barry to review letters for me before I send off a hot-headed letter. Here are some phone numbers you should have for getting help:
- Know the number to your state bar's ethics hotline. You will use it at least once!
- Know the number to your state's LPM section. They can come in handy.
- Keep the number handy for the ABA's tech people.
- Keep the phone number available for your malpractice carrier and check with them often for updates (for instance, my malpractice carrier offers free MCLE!)
This list is not a complete list. But, with these numbers handy, you should be able to resolve a lot of issues that come up.
