So this root beer comes to me today and, well, it came. That may be the highlight of it. Crater lake is a natural wonder and the inspiration for the soda. If that is the case, I can only assume Crater Lake is a deep, dark place where flavor has disappeared and the air makes your nose hairs curl.
This soda is made with pure cane sugar. I guess it goes to show that cane sugar alone does not make a root beer. It is also gluten free. Now, I don't know what gluten is, but whatever it is, it has to add some flavor. This soda simply has none.
The website, http://www.craterlakesoda.com/, is nice. Take a look at it. But don't buy anything. Seriously. I don't know who drinks this but not me. It is lacking in flavor and has a bitter after taste. I don't want after taste in my root beer.
Score on a scale of 1 to 10 cases: 1.5 cases.
I thought Crater Lake Root Beer was lackluster as well. It's all watered down with no flavor. Oh well, the bad root beers help us appreciate the good ones.
